The music of our solar system

People like the ones who created this website, are the only way I can make things like string theory and harmonics to make sense (to actually apply a sound to them) So anyway I thought this link was pretty cool.

Tamar Kali - Black Bottom

I was sent this via twitter. She's definately worth a mention. A cross of punk rock and psychadelic classical.
Check her out.

What do you think of Kanye's banned album cover?

I actually think it's an artistically interesting publicity stunt, a view of current race and gender politics (if viewed from that perspective). It also seems to fully demonstrate his point of view for an album entitled "Power".

Consider that the White demon has no face, she's not overtly Amber Rose, or Taylor Swift, but she's in a superior position over the Black figure. The Black figure also seems somewhat demonic, begging to question who actually has the power in this relationship. And there's alcohol, aiding in the process? Interesting.

I highly doubt he had any intention of this ever actually making it to shelves, but at least it generates intelligent dialogue.

Grown Up Summer Hits 2010 - Hot Chip

Free Download from Spin mag,
pretty dope mix.

I've got it on now.

Billy Jean (cover) - Shinehead

It's hard to cover Michael Jackson, and this is a good one.

Jack Lawrence drops new Greenhornes single "Better Off Without It"

Click here for Spin magazine article with new song

I like Jack Lawrence as a bassist alot, wasn't particularly in love with The Greenhornes before The Dead Weather, and not really now. BUT I am excited to see the bands going back to their roots (there's hope for The White Stripes!)

Anyway I actually like this song, kinda Mayer Hawthorne-ish.

Free music is always fun

Belleruche - Northern Girls

Hank Williams - Ramblin Man

Danger Mouse - Justify my Thug

Danger Mouse is the only one that can seem to make me really listen to Jay Z

Nicole Atkins - Vultures

Free single available on her website.
I'm having one of those moments where I ask myself WHY DIDN'T I GO BUY A CD WHEN I HAD THE CHANCE?!?!?!?
She opened for The Black Keys and was really dope, but the album doesn't come out until January, which I didn't know (I'm not big on epic lines unless I REALLY have to use the bathroom).
Anyway I can't find the album via my usual routes so I will have to wait, but until then she offers a free single in the genre of "psychedelic blues" I like.

I Can't Write Left Handed - John Legend

This is a Bill Withers cover, so amazing. I love John Legend, I want him to have my babies. But also, this song shouldn't still be appropriate, you'd think we'd have learned something about war since the Vietnam war.

The Doors - Light My Fire

Classic. This came on random today and I LOOOOOVVVE The Doors.
I dunno I saw somewhere that Jim Morrison was the sexiest man in Rock n Roll, maybe?
What do you think?
