The thing about travel is things stick with you when you have no idea. I can't say I was that interested in New Orleans jazz until I went there and heard it. And when I say heard it, I mean everywhere, music was the lifeblood of the city. More than the food, culture and even the flood. It was what kept everyone sane. Everyone played something, and live music was available every night all night. It was so present, that it clearly has its own identity and I can pick it out anywhere now. It was simply one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.
