Hey this is interesting, this group took it's name from a trio of African Americans who were charged in killing a prison guard at Soledad prison in 1970. It was said that the guard was killed because he shot three African Americans on the yard just days prior to his death and Angela Davis took up the case and sat on the chair to their defense committee.
